Our Values
Liberty · Equality · Fraternity
Our Masonic tradition is based on universal values that transcend the ages and guide our personal and collective commitment. These principles are not simple concepts, but living forces that structure our initiatory approach.
Liberty
Freedom of conscience is the absolute principle that underlies our obedience. Every Freemason is free in their philosophical, spiritual and political opinions.
This freedom is not an individualism but a responsibility: that of respecting that of others and building one's thought in dialogue and reflection.
"Liberty is the right to do whatever does not harm others"
Equality
In the lodge, all Freemasons are equal, regardless of their social, professional, cultural origins or their beliefs.
This fundamental equality is expressed through absolute mutual respect and attentive listening to each person's word. It allows authentic encounter between men whom everything opposes in profane society.
"Equality is the foundation of justice and fraternity"
Fraternity
Masonic fraternity creates lasting bonds between men who share the same values and the same quest for meaning.
It is expressed through mutual aid, solidarity and mutual support. This fraternity transcends geographical and cultural boundaries, uniting Freemasons from around the world in a common ideal.
"Fraternity is the soul of our Masonic commitment"
The values that complete our commitment
Secularism
Respect for secularism guarantees the neutrality of our works and allows everyone to express themselves freely, regardless of their personal conviction.
Tolerance
The acceptance of differences and the recognition of the diversity of opinions. Listening without judging, understanding without condemning.
Solidarity
Mutual aid between brothers and our commitment to humanitarian and social actions in the service of the community.
These values in our daily life
Our values are not abstract concepts but living principles that structure our commitment at all levels.
In our lodge works
Our values structure our reflections and guide our exchanges. They create a framework of respect and listening that allows everyone to express themselves freely and contribute to the collective construction of knowledge.
In society
These values inspire our civic behavior and our commitment in the service of the community.
In our relationships
They found our fraternal bonds and transcend social, professional or cultural differences.
In our transmission
We transmit these values to new generations so that this humanist tradition endures.
In our ethics
These values found our ethical rigor and the quality of our personal and collective commitment.
In our humanitarian commitment
Our solidarity is concretized through humanitarian and social actions. We support educational, cultural and charitable initiatives that participate in the improvement of the human condition and the progress of society.
Freemasonry has as its principles mutual tolerance, respect for others and individual freedom. It proposes no dogma but invites everyone to build their own reflection.
